Europa target Gibraltar international trio
With their Europa League date just over a week away, Europa FC are looking to add to their squad ahead of their trip to Armenia to face FC Pyunik. The summer window is always one for plenty of speculation but none more so than the talk of the future of current Lincoln Red Imps and Gibraltar midfielder start Liam Walker. The former Portsmouth midfielder has not put pen to paper on a new deal with the Imps, although he is expected to be named in their squad to travel to Estonia to face Flora Tallinn. Despite this, their is plenty of speculation indicating Walker could be leaving the Imps after 2 seasons to join Europa.
After twice failing to match the Imps in the league, Europa are rumoured to have put on the table a sizable offer to the player to swtich the Red and Black for the Green and Black, and with a fresh deal yet to be renewed with the Gibraltar Champions, the possiblity of Walker moving to Europa looks ever possible.
Other targets for Europa are Manchester 62 and Gibraltar International defensive duo Jack Sergeant and Justin Rovegno. The Red Devil’s skipper was spotted talking to Europa FC hierarchy a few weeks ago, fueling speculation that Sergeant would also be on his way. Rovegno though is also believed to be firmly in the radar of Lions Gibraltar also. Europa will have to stave off competition to secure the services of the full back. With the rumoured implementation of a Local player cap on starting XI’s set to come in this season, the team who only fielded one local player last season will need to acquire the services of some of Gibraltar’s best talents if they wish to succeed in their quest to become league champions.
It is a very busy time indeed for Europa as the recently announced the signings of four new players who have been plying their trade in Spain. Balonpedica Linense striker “Copi” joined newcomers Felix Lopez, Eloy Villodres and Ghanaian midfielder Mustapha Yahaya arriving at the club in recent weeks.
