Newly promoted Gibraltar Premier Division outfit Mons Calpe have today announced an exciting link up with the NSPL team from the United States, Storm FC which amongst linking up MS to the American soccer leagues as well as several American colleges and universities, by providing opportunities to obtain college scholarships to players in exchange for their soccer skills, it also has brought a direct connection to the Prestigious football academy ‘Fundacion Marcet’. The foundations headquarters sit in Barcelona but have academies in nearly 30 countries around the world including USA, Brazil, Argentina, France, Germany, China, Ghana and Australia amongst others. The academies look after youngsters from as young as the age of 4 all the way up to 20 years of age in the hope of educating young players in every aspect of football whether it be technical or educational. The foundation was founded in 1978 in Barcelona and it is dedicated to the constant development of young footballers using  their innovative method in order to teach footballing intelligence throughout the world.

In order to meet their objectives, the Foundation have been organising learning courses over the last 30 years which include informative modules, learning clinics and other informative sessions. The results speak for themselves. Every year, over 20 graduates of the Foundation are incorporated with some of the biggest clubs in Europe and many more arrive to positions of responsibility within football as professionals, leaders of business or social groups which give back to their respective communities using the values they have learned during their stay with the foundation.

Mons Calpe through its affiliation with Storm FC, shall have the possibility to send to Marcet, its players for specialised learning and improvement of their footballing techniques in specialised areas, whilst at the same time benefiting from the Foundation by taking players on to help nurture their development prior to moving on to bigger teams around Europe. In addition, any talented player under the books of Mons Calpe can have the opportunity to attend the College ID camps and play for the Storm FC in the United States, as well as to the Foundation and if successful play in many of their prestigious tournaments which take place around the world, with an opportunity to be assessed by top clubs.

In addition to the announcement of the links, Mons Calpe today also announced a trio of signings. The club have completed the signing of 3 local talents. Central midfielder Tyson Ruiz joins the club after spending a season with Manchester 62 whilst Alan Parker and Jaydan Parody join from Gibraltar Utd and Lynx respectively. Very exciting times await Mons Calpe.
