3 games were played in November and the same 4 managers who shone in October have repeated the feat in November. Here are the nominees for the GFT Premier Division Manager of the Month for October 16:
Juan Jose Gallardo – Europa
Europa have continued to lead the league at the end of November. With 2 wins and a draw keeps Gallardo’s men 1 point ahead of chasing Lincoln. Europa conceded the 1 goal during the month, which proved to be a telling one, as a free kick from St Joseph’s Ivan Lobato helped the Saints to a 1-1 draw against the league leaders. Europa ended the month with an emphatic 7-0 win over Lynx and a 3-0 win over Gibraltar Utd.
Julio Ribas – Lincoln Red Imps
Lincoln scored 14 goals in their 3 games in November making them the only side to win all their games in the calendar month. Conceding just 1 goal per game, Lincoln’s attack was by far the most potent during the month. Wins against Manchester 62 (6-1), Lions Gibraltar (4-1) and Mons Calpe (4-1) keep Ribas’s men on the coattails of leaders Europa.
Alfonso Cortijo Cabrera – St Joseph’s
Saints maintained their 3rd spot in the league with an unbeaten run during the month which extended to 2 wins and a draw. St Joseph’s are unbeaten since the opening day of the season defeat to Mons Calpe and are looking in good form. Their 1-1 draw against Europa was followed by wins against Europa Point (6-0) and Manchester 62 (1-0). New broke last week that manager Cortijo would be leaving the club and moving to the Chinese Super League. That will surely be a blow to the Saints who have done so well so far.
Manuel Perez Jimenez – Glacis Utd
Glacis United continue to impress with 2 wins and a draw during November. Having beaten Lynx (2-0) and Gibraltar Utd (2-0) Glacis went in as favourites in the final game of the month against Lions Gibraltar but were unable to claim the points as the game finished 1-1 and ended the game with 10 men.
