Lincoln travel to Estonia; Europa to visit Armenia

Lincoln will face Estonian opposition in their UEFA Champions League first qualifying round. Flora Tallinn will be the Imps opponents as they look to qualify for the 2nd Round for the 2nd time in succession. A further incentive was handed to the Imps in the later draw which saw them lined up alongside Scottish giants Celtic should they successfully navigate their initial hurdle. Lincoln will travel to Estonia for the first leg on the 28th of June, with the return leg at the Victoria Stadium on the 6th.

Lincoln players Jean-Carlos Garcia reacted to the draw via twitter whilst captain Roy Chipolina was invited via telephone call on Sky Sports News HQ to give his reaction.

As for Europa, a long trip to Yerevan, Armenia awaits as they face FC Pyunik in their UEFA Europa League 1st qualifying round. The Armenia side finished 3rd in their league last season but have a vast experience in the early rounds of UEFA competition in both the Champions League and Europa League. Last season, the Armenians finished as league winners and followed Lincoln into the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League after edging past San Marinese champions Folgore 4-2 on aggregate but were eliminated by Norwegian side Molde who proved to be too strong, as they ran comfortable 5-1 winners on aggregate, despite having won the first leg 1-0.

Despite this, the Armenians should not be at the same level of ability as Europa’s previous Europa League opponents. Europa now enter their 3rd qualifying campaign and after defeats against Vaduz and Slovan Bratislava in the past, the team may fancy their chances at pulling off an upset in this tie. Europa travel to Armenia ffor the game on the 7th of July with the return a week earlier on the 30th June at the Victoria Stadium. The winners of the tie will face the winners of the match between Swedish side AIK and Welsh outfit Bala Town.
