Round 2 of the Premier Division concluded with 4 teams maintaining their 100% starts to the season. Glacis began the week with a 1-0 win over Manchester 62 to take them temporarily to the top of the table. Salvador Carrasco’s 2nd goal in as many games sealing the win for the clarets. St Joseph’s kick started their season with a 3-0 win over Lions Gibraltar. Goals from Lopez, Verdejo and Gomez recorded Saints first win of the campaign. Lincoln then took the spoils in the Friday night game, scoring a goal in each half to beat Gibraltar Utd 2-0 with Joseph Chipolina once again on the scoresheet taking his tally to 4 for the season, with last year’s golden boot runner up George Cabrera scoring the other. Sunday’s double header saw Europa squeeze past Europa Point 2-1 with Rodriguez scoring a late winner after Luca had equalised in the 2nd half for the 2nd division champions, cancelling out Kike’s first half strike. The Sunday evening kick off saw Mons Calpe once again express their European qualification credentials by hammering Lynx 4-0 with former Lynx men Juan Pablo Pereira scoring 3 and center back Leonardo Vela netting the other.
